2012

I like going to the movies and seeing stuff happen on the screen that we can only imagine happening in real life. I like watching the world end in realistic digital animation. It's movie magic. In 2012, director Roland Emmerich has reached his highest level of achievement in this area. Stuff gets wrecked good in this movie! I giggled as I watched the vatican come crashing down on thousands of praying catholics. If you judged this film based on the destruction scenes alone, you'd have to hail Emmerich as a genius! There is an attention to detail and even a sense of joy that resonates from his visions of catastrophe so lovingly brought to life on the screen. I think Emmerich is clearly a fan of the Tool song Aenima and frankly so am I which is why I enjoyed this movie.
I don't care that the story plot and the dialogue are so bad that the audience laughed out loud at inappropriate moments throughout the film. I don't care that certain elements were so unrealistic that at times the movie felt like a parody of itself. Absurdity can be overlooked in the name of grand hollywood magic, whih is what this film is.

Stoked!!

absurdity can be overlooked only when combined with other areas to compensate for the complete insult to intelligence. and bad movie making? also much less easy to forgive. and i'm tired of the US government portrayed as a humanity saving hero in a time when they need political cheerleaders. there's a joke. and that will never change, obviously. maybe they should have included more about the actual mayan prophecy? that might have been more interesting/believable. oh wait, then we couldn't have been blessed with another crappy doomsday/god-bless-america and the G8 hype fest. and i was actually excited to see this movie. dear mayans, i'm sorry we made fun of your sacred calendar. xo
Dear Mayans,

I can't believe you read this blog too! Small world.

Love Ass-Droo (Ehndroo)
Lol!
I agree that the Americans save the world stuff was (once again) a little heavy handed - BUT - the effects were awesome! I love watching things blow up on the big screen and there was plenty to watch. Don't get too philosophical ppl - just go with it and enjoy the ride!
Cheers!
wow jer... u are by far the worst movie reviewer ever. i bet you dont even know what 2012 means. yet alone that it is not the correct predicted mayan date. please shoot yourself.
Who gives a fucking shit about Mayan date accuracy? Do I look like a pothead vegan conspiracy theorist to you??? Fuck off. Watching shit explode is fun pull the stick outta your ass.
